HEIR HUNTERS: Is the very popular BBC series following probate research firms – the Heir Hunters - as they attempt to track down the unwitting beneficiaries to estates worth thousands of pounds. Watch the promo It is now in it's fifth series - Heir Hunters can be seen on the BBC, as well as the UKTV family of channels. It has also aired in several other regions including Australia and New Zealand. Heir Hunters can also been seen on the History Channel in the UK, Australia and New Zealand Heir Hunters lists unclaimed estates as advertised by the treasury solicitor in the UK. Please note that although these estates were unclaimed at the time of making the show, many of these cases have now been solved. People who are interested in undertaking personal family history research may also wish to consider contacting the Association of Genealogists and Researchers in Archives (AGRA) or the Association Of Professional Genealogists (APGN), who are able to advise on family history research and who have a list of recommended researchers.
